We’re about to enter an absolute bumper summer of women’s sport, with the UEFA Women’s Euros and Wimbledon starting next week, the Netball Super League and Vitality Blast T20 competitions both approaching their finals, and the Rugby World Cup kicking off in August. 

So, whether you’re already a die-hard fan or want to know a little more about a range of sports and the athletes who make them so amazing, we’re rounding up the best podcasts that highlight women in sport. From the worlds of football to athletics, add these to your summer listening list.

That Lionesses Podcast

Ahead of this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, England Football have launched That Lionesses Podcast bringing fans exclusive player content and unheard stories from inside the England camp. Hosted by presenter and broadcaster Harriet Rose, the show will be recorded in-camp from both the UK before the tournament and then from Switzerland once the action begins.

The Women In Sport podcast 

The Women In Sport podcast brings together insight, advice and expertise from across the sector to discuss the issues and topics that are important to women and girls in the UK.

With a new season launching this summer to coincide with the election and coverage of the Olympics, each episode tackles the important issues that are preventing women and girls from getting into sport – including what needs to be done to make it fairer, health inequalities, misogyny and more. 

The Game Changers 

If you want to learn more about the trailblazing women leading the way across the world of sport, look no further than this podcast hosted by Sue Anstiss, a women’s sport equality activist and author of the book Game On: The Unstoppable Rise Of Women’s Sport.

The podcast, which has been going since 2019, sees Anstiss chat with guests from across the sporting industry, from TV pundits to world-leading para-athletes. Alongside finding out more about their careers and what drives them, each episode contains discussion of the fight for equality in women’s sport and looks at what needs to be done.   

The [Female] Athlete Project 

Hosted by Australian Olympic gold medalist Chloe Dalton, The [Female] Athlete Project spotlights the stories and achievements of women in sport. Striving for female athletes to be recognised for their achievements, not by their gender, each episode features stories of epic female athletes, including World Champions, Olympians and athletes at the top of their game – from the worlds of beach volleyball, pole vault, basketball, running and more. 

Keeping Track 

Hosted by three Olympians, from two countries (two of whom are mothers), join Team USA’s Alysia Montano and Molly Huddle and Ireland’s Roisin McGettigan as they come together to talk about the inspiring figures, important topics and interesting stories in women’s sports.

Love the beautiful game? For an unfiltered, fun look at the world of football – with a particular focus on the women’s game – tune into Counter Pressed.
