Here are the best new outdoor terraces in London to check out this summer

As the sunny days start to set in, our thoughts automatically turn to weekends on rooftop bars and evenings of al fresco dining. One glimpse of sun and we want to be sipping on an Aperol spritz with our best pals, soaking in the rays. So, here are some of the best new terraces in London to check out this summer.

The Standard reopened The Rooftop on 3 April, and we’re already excited to soak up the rays in this new space. Located on the 11th floor of The Standard, in the heart of King’s Cross, The Rooftop offers unparalleled views of the London skyline, providing the perfect setting for an after-work unwind or sunset soiree to elevate weekend plans.

Coming to the riverside terrace at Somerset House on 8 May is Setlist, a new bar and venue championing live music, DJs, art installations and food from some of London’s most exciting female chefs. Launching during Somerset House’s milestone 25th birthday year, Setlist will be a platform for creators that represent the breadth of London’s cultural excellence across food, music and art, all within a bespoke structure offering views across the Thames.

This Indian BBQ restaurant offers an outdoor oasis in the heart of the city. Hosting both diners and drinkers for the spring-summer season, guests can expect flame-grilled Indian plates alongside seasonal cocktails and free-flowing beer, coupled with screens for match-day viewing.

Amano Covent Garden unveils the launch of its Skyline Sessions, a weekly live music series at the Amano Rooftop Bar. The session started earlier this month and guests will be treated to soulful, jazz and pop-acoustic performances in a relaxed and intimate setting. This new series aims to enhance the guest experience by creating a laid-back atmosphere that appeals to both hotel guests and locals, while also inviting the after-work crowd into the Covent Garden area.

The Cadogan Arms has opened its al fresco dining area that spills onto the bustling King’s Road, creating an ideal setting to indulge in great food and drinks while soaking in the sun.

Guests are invited to sip on refreshing spring cocktails like the spicy clementine margarita or the hibiscus paloma. And on the food menu, highlights include the chicken and bacon cobb salad, the popular fried chicken burger and the indulgent chilli cheese toastie.
