The best new London restaurants and food pop-ups to try this February
Looking to discover some new food spots? We’ve got you covered.
While the days are still cold and dark, cosy dining is very much still on the menu. And London is buzzing with new restaurant openings and exciting foodie partnerships, so there’s no better time to get stuck into some delicious dishes.
From a new Alley Cats Pizza spot serving by the slice to the resurrection of legendary London dining space, Simpson’s In The Strand, there’s something in the capital to suit everybody’s tastes this month. To help you meal-plan, we’ve put together a list of some of the best additions to the London food scene this February.
Happy dining.
Simpson’s In The Strand
Famed restaurateur Jeremy King brings his Midas touch to 200-year-old institution, Simpson’s In The Strand, as he resurrects the Grade II-listed space for a new crowd of diners this February. With two restaurants, two bars and a ballroom, expect the return of waiters pushing silver trolleys of roasted carved meats beneath the sympathetically restored original decor and an underground bar, called Nellie’s Tavern, open until 3am.

Alley Cats Pizza
Bringing NY-style pizza to our capital since 2023, those clever cats are already opening their fourth location this February, this time on Portobello Road. But what makes this opening extra special is the introduction of a ‘slice window’. That’s right, you’ll be able to buy all your favourite Alley Cats pizza toppings one slice at a time, making it the perfect lunch and late-night food spot. Pizza on the go? Now that’s true New York style.

Cafe Kowloon
East Londoners who’ve become fans of noodle soup bar, Wonton Charlie’s, will be happy that the same team is opening up another Cantonese dining spot in London Fields called Cafe Kowloon. Opening on 4 February with booths delightfully fitted with lazy susans, the kitchen will be serving up a modern take on Hong Kong’s rich food culture, with plates of grilled curry fish ball skewers, Iberico secreto char siu and Hong Kong French toast all featuring on the menu.

Osteria Vibrato
Yes, there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Soho, but Osteria Vibrato, opening 26 February, sounds extra special – namely for its dedication to serving the freshest possible food. Fresh pasta will be rolled on site every morning, there’s a dedicated risotto chef and amaretti biscuits will be baked to order and served warm. In true Italian style, a £3 ‘coperto’ means premium olive oils, aged parmesan, freshly baked bread for ‘scarpetta’ (mopping up sauces) and mineral water will be delivered to every table. At the back, a 12-seat cocktail bar will serve up ice-cold martinis and negronis.

Cometa
Over at Carousel, exciting things are happening. While their revolving door of guest chefs is still in full swing, they’re creating a more permanent food offering by transforming the wine bar into a new Mexican restaurant, Cometa. Described as contemporary Mexican seafood, from 20 February the kitchen will be churning out plenty of ceviches and aguachiles, as well as larger dishes of crab chilpachole (seafood stew) and chive and lobster in chintextle (smoked chilli paste) and smoked butter sauce.

Sale e Pepe Mare
For over 50 years, Sale e Pepe has been serving up its delicious Italian fare in the heart of Knightsbridge. Now, a new restaurant with a special focus on seafood, Sale e Pepe Mare, is set to open within iconic London hotel, The Langham, from 9 February. Celebrating Italian coastal dining at its finest, experiencing the spirit of la dolce vita with dishes such as linguine all’aragosta (linguine with lobster, tomatoes and basil), salt-baked whole sea bass, bluefin tuna on baked brioche and seabass sashimi with yuzu soy.

Fenix Mayfair
Fenix, the celebrated contemporary Greek-Mediterranean dining concept, is set to open its doors in London’s prestigious Mayfair in late February 2026. Following its successful launch in Manchester, Fenix Mayfair will bring its unique blend of elevated Greek-Mediterranean cuisine and culture to the capital. The new restaurant will offer a sharing-concept menu focusing on innovative plates inspired by Greek traditions and Mediterranean flavours.

Burro
Burro restaurant and bar from Trullo’s Conor Gadd – one of London’s most loved restaurants – will open its doors in Covent Garden’s Floral Court in February.
Burro – which means ‘butter’ in Italian – will offer and celebrate honest cooking, Italian dishes that celebrate its rich history and popularity the world over. Gadd aims to bring hospitality in its truest form, a true blend of fun and professionalism honed over a lifetime in the industry.
Menu highlights include: fried artichokes dressed with bottarga and chilli, tagliatelle of duck and porcini ragù, lobster acqua pazza and vitello al Burro and tiramisu ‘bomboloni’ doughnuts.
