The White Lotus: as Helena Bonham Carter joins the cast for season 4, here’s everything you need to know
As excitement builds, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming fourth season of The White Lotus, from the next sun-soaked location to the all-new star-studded cast.
Ever since the explosive events of season three’s final episode, we’ve been craving our next instalment from the world’s most chaotic luxury hotel chain. And while we still have some time to wait until we can watch it, production for season four of The White Lotus is now officially underway, with exciting details like casting and location recently being announced.
Mike White’s Greek-style tragedy ups the ante season on season, with bigger names on the bill, even more murderous plot twists, even better fashion takes and increasingly despicable and ridiculously wealthy characters. Now with several Emmy and Golden Globe awards to its name, anticipation for each season of the HBO show only grows with time. If you’re also wondering what’s in store for the seemingly cursed hotel chain, here’s everything we know so far about the fourth season of The White Lotus.
Who will star in The White Lotus season 4?
With a fresh roster of characters each season, the announcement of each new season’s casting choices is becoming more and more anticipated. And, with the likes of Jennifer Coolidge and Parker Posy having already played their parts, season four has big boots to fill. However, the next season leaves absolutely no room for disappointment as national treasure and acting royalty Helena Bonham Carter is confirmed to take a starring role. She’ll be joined by comedic heavyweight Steve Coogan, Chris Messina (The Mindy Project), Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) and AJ Michalka (The Goldbergs). Newcomers Caleb Jonte Edwards and Marissa Long will round out the cast.
While Natasha Rothwell reprised her season one role as spa manager Belinda in season three, her return for season four has not yet been confirmed, although we’re dying to know what she and her son, Zion (played by Nicholas Duvernay), will do next with their newfound wealth. Another returning character not yet confirmed is Jon Gries’s Greg. As Tanya’s love interest-turned-husband-turned-cause of her demise, he’s the only character to appear in all three seasons, so surely a slimy fourth appearance is on the cards? Only time will tell…
What will happen in The White Lotus season 4, and where is it being filmed?
Plot details are under wraps for now, but just as anticipated as who will end up in a bodybag by the finale episode is where in the world we’ll be heading to next. From Maui to Sicily to the Koh Samui wellness retreat, each location is as integral to the storyline as the characters and their increasingly awful behaviour. So, which sun-drenched location are we off to next?
While the first three seasons all took place on islands, it’s been confirmed that season four will buck this trend with a trip to the French Riviera. It will also be the first season not to be filmed at a Four Seasons hotel – the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez, a 19th century palace-turned-luxury hotel set on a sprawling 32 acres, has been confirmed as the primary filming location for season four.
It has been reported that filming locations have also been scouted in Paris, so it looks like we’ll venture to the French capital for some of the story. It’s also been rumoured that the Cannes Film Festival could make an appearance in the storyline, a rumour strengthened by the fact that the festival takes place in May, perfectly in line with the proposed spring-summer filming schedule (more on that below).
When can we watch The White Lotus season 4?
Filming is reported to be getting underway from April to September 2026, which means we’re most likely looking at a 2027 release. With season three having aired back in February 2025, that feels like a long time to wait for our next dose of White Lotus-based dramatics, but there was also a two-year gap between the second and third seasons, so the pacing does match up with previous series. As aways, we expect the US-made HBO show will air on Sky Atlantic and Now TV here in the UK.
As ever, we’ll be keeping you updated as and when more details are confirmed. Stay tuned…
