This season, it’s all about spots – just not the kind you’re thinking of. Dalmatian dots have emerged as the animal print du jour at Copenhagen Fashion Week, and here’s how to style them with confidence.

Copenhagen Fashion Week is never short on colour, print or personality – and honestly, that’s exactly why we love it. Each season, the Danish capital proves that fashion doesn’t have to be serious to be stylish, and that getting dressed can (and should) be fun, with a capital F. Our team always waits with bated breath to see what the insiders are wearing on the ground, when they’re running between shows, braving the cold and turning the pavements outside into a moving mood-board of genuinely great outfits.

This year, the streets were alive with print. Animal print, specifically, in all its forms. Zebra stripes charged through tailoring, cow print popped up on coats and accessories, and even sweet, Bambi-inspired deer motifs made an appearance. But the clear winner? Spots. Big, bold, graphic spots that sat somewhere between polka dots and animal print – which we’re officially calling the dalmatian dot. Think chic rather than Cruella de Vil.

Despite their high-contrast look, dalmatian dots are surprisingly easy to wear. The black-and-white palette plays nicely with the rest of your wardrobe, slipping in effortlessly alongside charcoal greys, classic blacks, soft creams and rich chocolate browns. A spotted coat instantly makes simple tailoring feel more interesting. A dotted knit gives everyday denim a lift. And if you’re not ready to go all in, a skirt, scarf or bag is a great way to try the trend without committing fully.

The trick is keeping the rest of your outfit simple so it looks done on purpose. Let the print do the heavy lifting and avoid over-styling. Bigger spots feel cool and very now, while smaller dots read a little more classic and easy to live with. Clean layers and minimal accessories stop things from tipping into ‘too much’, and if you do want to mix prints, sticking to a tight, neutral colour palette keeps everything feeling pulled together rather than chaotic.

The Scandi style set showed us exactly how it’s done: don’t overthink it, trust the print and keep the rest clean. Ahead, scroll through the Dalmatian dot street style looks worth screenshotting and saving.
