“I’ve been through multiple bottles of this hair growth serum – yes, it’s that good”

If you find your hair won’t grow past a certain point or have noticed sparse areas around your temple, you need this serum.
Due to heavy bleaching, avoiding (many) trims at the hairdressers and excessive heat damage in my teens, my hair refused to grow for what felt like almost a decade. I’d get to the same length, just shy of my shoulders, but no further. My strands weren’t budging an inch.
If that wasn’t enough, in my late 20s, I started to notice my hairline was slowly disappearing around my temples. Before I reached a point of no return, I had to rethink my haircare routine and prioritise hair health over any trendy colour or cut (you can read more about all the steps I took here).
The most important step on this journey was putting down the hair straighteners (which I used almost daily) and picking up the right products instead. I introduced rich, buttery hair masks and leave-in conditioners, among many other products, in an effort to get my strands back on track.
Yes, I invested more in my shampoo and conditioner, but the one product that has the biggest impact was a particular hair growth serum. While many claim to regrow strands, very few actually have the evidence to back them up. However, the Kérastase Genesis Fortifying Anti-Hair Loss Serum really lived up to the hype.

buy nowWhile it won’t regrow new hairs overnight, it will nourish your scalp to make it a fertilised playground to encourage new hairs. I started applying it to my damp scalp every time I washed my hair.
Not only did it not leave my roots feeling clogged or looking slick, but within a few months, I could see a vast difference in the patches around my hairline. I felt comfortable tying my hair back for the first time in years.
Over the years, I’ve obviously been through my fair share of hair products, but this is one that’s remained a staple in my routine – I’m currently on my fourth bottle. I’ve recommended it to friends who’ve struggled with excessive hair shedding or damage caused by years of bleaching, who’ve echoed similar positive feedback.
The power behind this anti-hair fall serum is aminexil (a topical ingredient with positive clinical studies about improving density and reducing hair loss), as well as antioxidant edelweiss native cells and anti-inflammatory ginger. All work to improve your scalp’s health to encourage new hairs to sprout and keep shedding to a minimum.
The key to anything hair growth-related is consistency. Kérastase recommends applying the serum twice a day, once in the morning and once before you go to bed. It’s very lightweight, so you don’t have to worry about your hair looking greasy. It’s important to massage it in too, to really reap the benefits.
I still use it to this day, but as my hair isn’t in such dire need of a total overhaul, I only use it twice a week to help keep my scalp in tip-top condition. Yes, it’s not the cheapest hair product out there, but I’ve tried so many hair growth serums in the past and been disappointed; to me, it’s well worth the investment.
If you’re on a hair health journey for 2026, don’t sleep on Kérastase Genesis Fortifying Anti-Hair Loss Serum.
