Pistachio is no longer just the flavour you’re ordering. It’s the colour you’re wearing too, and it might be the most uplifting thing you add to your wardrobe this season.

I used to think pistachio was just… a nut. One you politely ate at Christmas and then forgot about until the next year. But suddenly it’s in everything, and I’m not immune. I’ve eaten pistachio chocolate, drunk pistachio coffee, bought pistachio biscuits ‘for later’ and found myself staring into the middle distance while wondering if pistachio butter could possibly be worth £9. (Spoiler: it is.)

So yes, when the colour showed up in fashion, I didn’t fight it; I simply accepted my fate. I am now a pistachio person. Pistachio as a colour does the exact same thing it does in food: it feels comforting, a little indulgent and weirdly uplifting. Not as sugary as baby pink, not as shouty as neon and less muted than sage, it hits that sweet spot between fresh-for-spring and genuinely wearable. Consider it a palette cleanser, right when we need one most.

Across the spring/summer 2026 catwalks, pistachio popped up again and again, softening silhouettes and waking up the palette without overwhelming it. At Alberta Ferretti, models were draped in broderie anglaise dresses with matching scarves tied loosely through their hair, giving the shade a romantic, airy energy. Emilia Wickstead went playful, splashing pistachio alongside blush tones in a fun plaid print, while Fendi and Erdem leaned into spring through botanical dresses and skirts. Issey Miyake styled it against dove greys, forest greens and acid yellows – proof that it’s not just pretty; it’s a proper styling tool.

That’s the power of pistachio: it has duality. Its a soft statement, brightening an outfit without trying too hard. If you live in black, navy and grey, it’s the easiest way to flirt with colour without feeling like you’ve lost yourself. And if you already love lighter tones, it slides right in alongside creams, whites and sandy neutrals like it’s always belonged there.

The easiest way to wear it? Pair pistachio with oat, ecru and charcoal for a look that feels polished. If you want it to feel more on-trend, play with contrast: pistachio with baby pink is fun and fresh, while pistachio with cherry red or deep burgundy looks modern and unexpectedly cool. Or take the sweetness down with something tougher – dark denim, leather, metallic chromes and silver.

If you’re ready to add a little shot of green to your wardrobe, I’ve put together a chic edit below – almost as irresistible as your favourite pistachio kunafa bar.
