“On first impression, I’ll put my hands up and say this may not be the most aesthetic of lip balms out there, but boy is it one of the most hydrating. By far. Described as an ‘ointment balm’, the formula is, as you’d imagine, incredibly thick, meaning a tube will last you ages. When I’ve squeezed out a tiny dollop and begin to apply it onto my lips, the rich balm-like texture instantly melts upon contact into a smooth oil that sinks into skin. During this recent cold snap, I’ve been reaching for it any time I see even a hint of dryness or flakiness, and it instantly repairs my skin.

“The formula is made up of pure lanolin, which is known for having a molecular structure that closely resembles the skin’s natural oils. As the formulation is so intensely rich, you feel it on your lips even after it sinks in, but I really don’t mind as it has a luxurious, oil-like feel rather than something tacky or sticky. In fact, it feels a bit like a hug that protects my lips against blistery winds. When I’ve finished applying it, my lips instantly look healthier, too. They have a nice glossy sheen to them that revives them a bit, which is a bonus as pigmentation around my lips tends to make them look dull when I have nothing on them.

“When I’m wearing it, its moisturising properties last all day long, unless I choose to wipe it off myself. It’s hands down one of the most nourishing lip balms I’ve ever used, and the more I use it, the more I notice that my lips don’t get dry. Instead, they just feel softer (meaning lipstick application is so much smoother, too). When I don’t use it, I really notice the difference in a way that I imagine is similar to not brushing your teeth or forgetting to put on deodorant. It has become such a staple in my everyday routine, and now I need multiple tubes dotted all around the house for easy access. My favourite way to wear it is to pair it with a lip liner for some coverage, as it has zero tint. Even better? It can be used on any dry skin, meaning any residue left on my fingers after application gets used on my cuticles. It’s by far the most multi-tasking product in my handbag.”
