Indigo is trending this season, so get there first with these homeware picks, including tableware, soft furnishings, furniture and more.

Pantone may have announced its colour of 2026 as Cloud Dancer, a soft off-white, but interiors experts are expecting to see a much bolder shade dominate the following months: indigo. An evolution of 2025’s penchant for chirpy cobalt, indigo is its deeper, grown-up, inkier cousin. While cobalt tapped into last year’s childlike, primary colours trend, indigo feels like a more sophisticated shade that will really ground a room.

John Lewis has even picked it as its colour of the season for 2026. “Grounded in nature and rich with heritage, this deep, tranquil hue recalls the artistry of ancient dyes and the calm expanse of sea and sky,” Sarah O’Sullivan, John Lewis’s senior homeware designer, told Stylist. Bridging the gap between modern and classic, she described the inky hue as a “timeless shade that brings depth, serenity and sophistication to every space. It layers well with earthy browns and warm neutrals for a balanced, natural palette, while contrasting with ochre and bronze green for a contemporary edge.”

Here, we’ve found nine striking homeware pieces in inky indigo to add the trending hue to your home.
