Looking for your next haircut? Look no further than the A-line bob
This is about to be the bob of the moment.
Is it just us, or have haircuts just been getting shorter and shorter this year? With the rise of the pixie cut and the return of Princess Diana’s signature look, all signs seem to be pointing towards us getting rid of our long locks.
Bobs aren’t escaping this hair trend. But there’s one in particular that we predict is going to be everywhere for 2026, and that’s the A-line bob. You may have seen Lily Collins’s new cropped cut while promoting the newest season of Emily In Paris, which is the exact style we’re talking about.
It’s as trim and petite as a bob can get, without going into bixie territory, and this is going to be a huge trend for next year. “In 2026, we will see one-length, strong bobs,” says Philipp Haug from Haug London Haus. “People will want to make a bit more statement with their haircuts, so we’ll be seeing more chin-length cuts,” he adds. So the A-line bob is right on trend.
Unlike the more tousled bob styles we’ve been seeing lately, the aim of this cut is the opposite – you’ll need your fly-away taming wands at the ready. “As we move into 2026, I think we’ll see bobs become sleeker and more refined, with ends bevelled under rather than flicking out,” says Jake Unger, stylist at Larry King Marylebone. “Picture a cleaner, more tucked-in silhouette,” he adds. This shape is the main aim when it comes to the A-line bob.
