Your December 2025 horoscope is here: get ready for the month ahead with your star sign’s forecast

Astrology

How will the final month of 2025 look for you? Let astrology give you a hint with your star sign’s horoscope for December.

It is the festive season: a time for celebrating with our loved ones and appreciating the joyous energy around us. Astrology is here to help you see how the cosmic energy will play out with your star sign’s horoscope for December 2025. But first, what does the month have in store?

On 4 December, we’ll be experiencing a full moon in Gemini, a moment that often highlights how much time we spend in our heads, giving us an opportunity to release some of that burden. During the full moon, events may bluntly show how overthinking can lead to missed opportunities and how following your passions can bring prosperity. On 10 December, Neptune will station direct in Pisces at 29º for the last time. This dance between Neptune and Saturn is guiding us through our final lessons in balancing intuition with discipline. The next day, Mercury re-enters Sagittarius, but this time around, we are more purposeful and intentional when it comes to allowing our passions to be the purpose of our words and actions. We will not be moving as haphazardly as we did last month.

A few days later, on 15 December, Mars enters Capricorn, where it is exalted. Your focus and discipline will stand out and be praised, and people will follow your rhythm. But don’t let it get to your head; egos can cause disruption and embarrassment.

On 20 December, we welcome a new moon in Sagittarius, bringing a new abundance of energy with it. However, to enjoy it fully, honesty and clarity are essential. Step into the season with openness and intention. Just a day later comes the winter solstice and the start of Capricorn season. While the sun in Capricorn can bring serious energy, this year it carries a deeper sensuality and a desire for meaningful expressions of love and appreciation. The festive spirit will be strong, and if you have romance in your life, you may notice affection showing up in more intimate, deliberate ways.

By Christmas Eve, Venus enters Capricorn, encouraging people to show affection through presence and support. Any lingering mistrust will slowly fade away, and this is a great note to end the year on: move into 2026 with a strong sense of trust, with people who will truly support you.

Aries

21 March to 19 April

At the start of the month, you’ll speak your mind more fluidly. It almost feels like you won’t have a chance to do so any other time, but you will. This sense of urgency stems from both practical pressure and a subconscious unease you can’t quite place. Using the world as your springboard may make people feel uncomfortable, Aries, but you’ll feel a sense of relief as the weeks unfold, as if you can finally move forward.

Travel plans may be calling to visit loved ones, but you’re just as excited to connect with friends and familiar faces. You’re ready to share what’s been happening in your life, and you’re eager to be seen by others and use that attention to lead. With your ruling planet exalted in Capricorn, you’re stepping into a disciplined mood when it comes to where your life is heading.

By mid-month, your mood ebbs and flows with the festive atmosphere. You’re feeling that energy bouncing from others, but there’s also a twinge of suspicion, and you’re not quite sure what about. If you don’t have proof, honour your feelings, but don’t dwell; enjoy the time you have with your loved ones. As the month progresses, the tension eases, and the energy will have a consistent, pleasant air to it. There’s a good chance you will win this season, whether it’s a thoughtful gift, the acknowledgement you were hoping for or just general joy. Be mindful of overspending and keeping your valuables safe, and you will have a smooth transition to the new year.

Taurus

20 April to 20 May

This is a celebratory month, so money will be spent. Friends and even colleagues may try to entice you with fun hangouts or irresistible purchases, and it’s OK to indulge a little, but try to keep yourself on a gentle budget so you can enter 2026 with something in the bank.

Don’t be surprised if someone offers to pick up the tab, especially if you’ve been a listening ear or shoulder to cry on. Just remember to set boundaries so your social life stays balanced. Your recent passion for understanding the world can be motivational to people around you, so expect to be sought out for grounding and perspective.

By mid-month, there may be some confusion around vulnerability and friendship boundaries. There might be someone who is trying to get closer to you, Taurus, romantically or platonically, and while you appreciate the gesture, you may not be ready for that commitment.

You may also find yourself doing some last-minute travelling to be with loved ones for the holidays, or even just jetting off on a post-holiday deal. Either way, getting out of your usual environment refreshes your spirit and shifts your perspective on life. With Venus moving through a fellow Earth sign, you may feel more positive and uplifted, and this energy makes it easy for you to make new year’s resolutions that support a better version of yourself in 2026.

Gemini

21 May to 20 June

With the full moon in your sign at the beginning of the month, you’ll find yourself opening up emotionally to connect with others, and your willingness to compromise will draw attention. Some may feel suspicious, assuming you’re doing it for validation and praise, but others will appreciate your effort and see you in a better light. However, the more you share your perspective, the more people will be on your side. You’ve had the conviction of a preacher lately, but be careful not to overpromise or exaggerate, especially with Mercury moving through Sagittarius. Opportunities will arise to get closer to people who can help you achieve your goals, but remember this is more of a ‘you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours’ situation – so move forward wisely, Gemini.

Love is in the stars this month, including platonic love. Maybe it’s the festive cheer or the need for winter warmth and comfort, but you’ll have a deep desire to make things right with certain connections and maybe even ignore some red flags. That can work for now, but be aware that towards the end of the month, you and/or your partner will want to understand why things are the way they are emotionally. There will be a desire to dig deeper, become closer and be more vulnerable. If you play your cards right, you can end this year in a beautiful and meaningful way with people you truly love. Listen to your heart.

Cancer

21 June to 22 July

The full moon in Gemini will illuminate parts of yourself you tend to keep private. If this is part of your usual rhythm, that’s OK, but if there’s a deeper reason rooted in fear or anxiety, some self-confrontation may be needed. You may assume people don’t care, and there’s no need to explain yourself, but that’s not true. This assumption likely stems from a past event where you felt unheard, and you need to revise your daily habits – practically and mentally – so you can start putting more power and belief in your ideas.

You may be challenged by someone argumentative for argument’s sake, and this is an ideal opportunity to practise expressing yourself in a new way. Believe it or not, you will gain a lot of respect and understanding from this, and it’s perfectly timed: the potential for bickering rises during the festive period.

Although you’ve made changes to your daily routines and seen small successes, you may still see some pockets of tension that make you wonder if it’s worth it. That’s just your ruling planet, the moon, forming tough angles with others. Remember, this is temporary and will soon pass. In the meantime, Cancer, be mindful of stress and be cautious with accidents – especially in the second half of the month. Close relationships take focus now, and it’s important not to resurrect past situations that have already been resolved, no matter how much you want to. The urge to stir things up likely comes from within or something you still need to resolve. Once you do, you’ll feel a flow and ease you haven’t had before. Perfect energy to bring in the new year.

Leo

23 July - 22 August

Your friendships and wider social circle may be making you feel a bit sensitive and uneasy lately, Leo. You’re feeling slightly out of sync with people you normally relate to, and it’s throwing you off-centre. Instead of focusing on that, choose to have fun and enjoy the winter festivities. You may even go on a date or two to break up the stale energy.

This uneasiness likely comes from a vulnerability mismatch; either you’re feeling you can’t be vulnerable or the people you used to be able to open up to aren’t as available as before, and it’s created a shift in your routines and daily flow. The truth is, these people are still in your life, but dynamics can shift. A gentle, honest conversation with your loved ones can clear the air and get things back on track.

Meanwhile, something you casually dabbled in earlier in December – a date or fun activity – is now expecting a deeper commitment from you. Most likely, you were just trying to let off some steam, but someone else is hoping for more consistency. Express your intentions clearly to lighten the emotional fallout; I don’t think the situation is ending anytime soon. In fact, this person or situation will start to be involved in your daily life. It might feel confusing at first, but you’ll gradually soften to the situation. It looks like you’re bringing something new into 2026. How fun!

Virgo

23 August to 22 September

There’s a partnership that’s creating a lot of confusion in your life, Virgo, and these issues could be spilling into other areas. If you don’t rein this in fast, it could cause more damage, so try your best to settle it once and for all. Others are already sensing a touchiness in your energy. Opening up about how you feel, alongside some mindfulness exercises, can bring inner balance. Burning off some steam by enjoying December festivities is a great way to release that pent-up tension, but the more you take care of yourself, the better equipped you are to help others.

If you still haven’t addressed the elephant in the room with the person causing your issues by the new moon in Sagittarius, the energy is likely to get so tense that it may force a confrontation. If you’ve done the emotional groundwork, the new moon, although rocky, will bring promising energy as you stand up for yourself and refuse anything less than the truth. This release will be much needed and perfectly timed for the festive season –  you can finally let your hair down and enjoy the joyous energy of the winter solstice. You may have a nice romantic surprise as well if you are in a relationship. Even if you’re single, don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You may be surprised by the responses you receive.

Libra

23 September to 22 October

You may be realising that certain perspectives and philosophies you absorbed earlier in life no longer resonate with you, Libra. There have been significant moments in your practical and abstract life that have revealed there’s more to life than the beliefs you once held, and this has you reflecting on your past, comparing old philosophies and new. You are feeling silly for wholeheartedly following this perspective, but you don’t need to – it’s part of life.

However, this self-awareness has made you want to change things. You may be eager to switch things up in your home environment as well as the ways you process emotion. You understand this is a lifestyle change, so you’re revisiting your daily routines to ensure they flow with your new way of thinking. You’re craving better flow in your life, and you can feel you’re moving in the right direction.

The new moon in Sagittarius is encouraging you to trust your ideas and thoughts. It brings out a desire to communicate more, whether about deep subjects or the small things. Regardless, you will be a chatty Cathy the closer we get to Christmas. This is great because these conversations will teach you a lot about learning from other perspectives.

Right before the height of the season, you feel some tension. Thankfully, there are plenty of opportunities to cool down and bring back some peace and harmony. Having emotional authority, not control, will soften the drama that this time of year can sometimes bring, and while there may be some spikes of tension, the energy will settle with your new, calm, collected persona.

Scorpio

23 October to 21 November

Support you once had, whether emotional, financial or otherwise, feels less available this month, and it’s making you feel uneasy. It is the festive season, and you want to make sure it is as enjoyable as possible. This loss can make you want to indulge and let off some steam, Scorpio, but just be mindful not to go too far. Don’t succumb to the pressure; this situation is far easier to resolve or soften if you just tap into your inner stability.

This is a time to look over your finances, values, sense of worth and opportunities, and stand on your own two feet. You have opportunities and support available to you; you just need to do a little digging. Communicate your needs and don’t doubt the love you have around you – especially this month.

Right before Christmas, you might receive a surprise gift or opportunity that you can invest in. The details may not be clear at first, so be sure to take your time and ask necessary questions, but this is promising. It’s a reminder that your circle and the universe are truly on your side. This is also a nudge from the universe that you may need to nurture your relationships with neighbours, friends and acquaintances. Community is important during these times, so it’s important that we all build these connections and help others when we can as well. Gratitude is the right attitude as we go into 2026.

Sagittarius

22 November to 21 December

Although it’s the festive season, a time when we’re typically encouraged to connect and give to others, you’ve been feeling a strong urge to go inward and focus on yourself. The full moon this month may heighten the urge to push back. You’re feeling overwhelmed by outside influences, and you’re craving grounded, centred energy. Be sure to communicate your intentions with loved ones because they may be concerned you’re not being your typical self, especially during your birthday season (Happy birthday, December Sagittarians!)

Keep an eye on being overly self-critical, especially with Mercury entering your sign on 11 December. It’s OK to notice parts of yourself you want to change, but there’s a thin line between self-improvement and self-deprecation. This energy can be incredibly empowering and make you eager to build on confidence, self-esteem and self-worth.

On 20 December, the new moon in your sign brings a deep sense of renewal. You may feel slightly agitated because you are adjusting to a new version of yourself; however, that energy will pass. As the month unfolds, you’ll notice your sense of self-worth grows. Eventually, you’ll realise that even your flaws are worthy and special – they tell a part of your life story and you are learning to embrace that. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t continue improving yourself when you’re ready. It simply means you can fully accept and love yourself, no matter where you are in your journey. This is a beautiful space to be in as we end 2025 and enter 2026.

Capricorn

22 December to 19 January

You’re receiving a clear internal signal this month that you have some habits or routines you need to let go of. They no longer serve you, and they’re draining your energy and clouding your perspective. It feels like an invisible energy is pressuring you to make some stable and positive changes to your life, and it will not stop until you listen.

Not only will you follow this uplifting energy, Capricorn, but you’ll start to dig deeper within to explore whether there are any emotional connections to the way you move through life. Whether it’s connected to overindulgence, partying too much or working too hard, the imbalances in our lives need to be checked so we can live healthily.

Once Mars enters your sign, where it’s exalted, you will be more strict and disciplined than usual. Don’t limit yourself too much, or you’ll catch yourself on the other side of the spectrum. Remember, balance is what we are striving for – not extremes.

The new moon in Sagittarius delivers an ‘Aha!’ moment that could genuinely blow your mind. You will see how some of your self-sabotaging is directly aligned with your upbringing or being let down by authority figures. It’s complicated – loved ones don’t usually intend harm, but hurt people hurt people, even accidentally.

With the winter solstice marking your birthday season (happy birthday, December Capricorns!), you are feeling the urge to parent yourself and work through emotional misdirection. That’s beautiful, but be sure you balance this with your job. It’s the festive period, it’s your birthday… this is the time to celebrate you and the beautiful people around you. You deserve some breaks and fun too, Capricorn.

Aquarius

20 January to 18 February

It’s the festive season, and although you have it in you to party and be merry, you can’t help but feel a sense of responsibility in all aspects of your life. Interestingly, your cash is beginning to flow again, Aquarius, and while you’re ready to spend, you’re also being more mindful. You’re understanding the link between your self-worth and responsibilities, and you want to be the best version of yourself as we enter 2026.

However, you’re approaching this with ease. Your energy is calmer, more relaxed, and you would rather just chill and go about things at an even pace. You may find yourself connecting with friends and your social circle – not just for fun but also to see how they can help lighten the load of your everyday life.

The more time you spend with your people, the more perspectives you hear, and you’re noticing they’re all hinting at the same thing: maybe this sense of responsibility is in your head. If that’s the case, why do you feel it? What is going on here? Use this time to gently understand why you take on so much. Some gentle mindfulness practices, like meditation or journaling, can be of great help. This easy-going self-reflection is beautiful, and the timing is wonderful as you start to create goals for yourself for the new year. The ‘new year, new me’ motto sounds especially promising for you this time around.

Pisces

19 February to 20 March

The month begins on a slightly disorienting note, but it’s nothing a Pisces can’t handle. Even with your naturally forgiving nature, you may notice a few emotional hangups creating imbalance in your life, and unresolved issues in personal partnerships feel like a heavy, wet blanket weighing you down.

Clarity will come. It’s important not to react too quickly or speak too sharply. What you say to others this month can stick to your reputation, so let your words be fair and kind. It may be a good idea to lean on friends – they will be the encouragement you need to push forward with grace. Just make sure you don’t lash out at them just because you can’t express it elsewhere.

A new career opportunity may arise that you’re not 100% certain about. You can already sense there is going to be confusion and tension, so you may wonder if you even want to be in that position at all. Still, this can show others how resilient you are. The choice is yours: just know you have all the tools for success. And if you don’t, you can always ask for support.

Again, this will be a great time to lean on your community. If you’ve been kind and fair in the past, they will be open to helping you, especially if it benefits them too. This experience may spark a reflection around your own long-term goals and aspirations, especially as the year winds down. As you settle in with your loved ones and share your goals for 2026 with them, this can prove to be encouraging and helpful. Hit the ground running on 1 January.
